CITY & GUILDS ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES 

These accredited industry-based training programmes focus on the practical skills and competences required in the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing sectors. The qualifications are recognised internationally by governments, industries and higher education.

• DIAET-C&G courses are competence-based and comprise of applied theory, experiential learning and practical hands-on / on-the job training.
• Learners are able to claim unit certification should they wish to take units as individual courses.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS/Duration of the course:

• To gain entry into City & Guilds Level  2 -3 International Vocational  Qualification (IVQ) in Engineering programmes, the candidate is required to have a minimum of : (WAEC – SSC, NECO, NABTEB) O’Level Credits in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings , inclusive of English Language, Mathematics and Science (Physics & Chemistry). N/B: If the student does not have the required English, Mathematics or Science subjects, DUFITEK shall offer English, Mathematics and Science bridging programmes to ensure students attain the necessary academic requirements to pursue the programme.

• City & Guilds Level 4 – 5 International Vocational Qualification (IVQ) Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Engineering. Entry requirements for this programme include certification in City & Guilds Level 3 or HND or Degrees in relevant engineering disciplines.

WHAT ARE BTEC INTERNATIONAL SPECIALIST AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS IN OIL AND GAS FACILITIES?

 BTEC International Specialist and Professional qualifications are competence – based (work-based learning) that help learners gain and develop the practical skills and Competency they need to get started and progress in a wide range of careers in the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas Industries. They also provide career development opportunities for those already in work. 

The qualifications are designed to cover the minimum competence standards to meet the job requirements for key health, safety and environmental (HSE)-critical roles in the oil and gas industries.

BTEC programmes are available at Levels 2–3 (Specialist) and Level 4 (Professional). Learners develop and demonstrate their competence in the area of work or job role to which the qualification relates. Completing the qualification therefore provides evidence that learners are fully competent in the job role.

SIZES OF QUALIFICATION

Pearson estimates the number of guided learning hours (GLH) that will be needed for centre staff to deliver the qualification. This includes all training that involves centre staff in teaching and supervising learners, as well as all assessment activities.

BTEC Specialist and Professional qualifications are available in the following sizes:

Award – a qualification with a GLH value of 10–120 hours

Certificate – a qualification with a GLH value of 121–369 hours

Diploma – a qualification with a GLH value of 370 or above.
